| The
key to successful hair removal is destroying the entire follicle,
down to the bulb and its germinating centers, while preserving surrounding
healthy tissue. Destroying the hair follicle during its active growth
cycle is another key to producing long-term hair reduction. Consequently,
multiple treatments scheduled several weeks or months apart are
typically required to achieve optimal results.
The energy from the Laser penetrates through the skin and is absorbed
in the target pigment (melanin) found in the hair shaft. This energy
absorbed in the shaft causes the temperature to reach a sufficiently
high level in the hair follicle so that the targeted hair structures
are destroyed and regrowth is inhibited.
With state of art Lumenis laser equipment, the laser hair removal
can result in long-lasting hair removal after a treatment regime.
In fact, Lumenis photoepilation technology has been proven to provide
permanent hair reduction.
We can effectively treat virtually all hair colors and hair textures,
from blonde to black, and coarse to fine.
Hair removal is now possible for all skin types (Fitzpatrick Skin
Types I - VI), even tanned and dark-skinned patients can be treated.
Laser hair removal can quickly and efficiently eliminate hair from
all parts of the body, no matter how deep the follicles reside or
how large or small the area. This includes sensitive areas like
the lip, under the arms, and around the bikini line, as well as
large areas like a man's back or a pair of woman's legs.
With cool tip technology, hair removal will have minimal patient
discomfort, side effects or interruption of routine activities.
Pseudofolliculitis Barbae (PFB) – PFB, or razor bumps, is
a common condition in which the regrowing hair, after shaving, curves
back towards and pierces the skin resulting in a pustule or papule.
PFB is very prevalent in populations with curly hair, affecting
nearly 85% of men of African decent and a growing number of women.
The laser hair removal system with excellent safety profile for
all skin types including the darkest skin, makes it a safe, effective
and revolutionary alternative for the treatment of pseudofolliculitis
barbae.
